چکیده

Purpose: We compared 1 year refractive outcomes between combined laser-assisted subepithelial keratomileusis (LASEK) and accelerated collagen cross linking (CXL LASEK), LASEK alone. Methods: The study was conducted as a retrospective analysis including 166 eyes of 83 moderate myopia patients who underwent CXL LASEK, 146 73 alone. Uncorrected distance visual acuity (UDVA), spherical equivalent (SE), keratometry were evaluated preoperatively, at 1, 3, 6 months, after surgery. Results: There significant difference preoperative SE (<i>p</i> < 0.05), UDVA 0.05). no flat K = 0.10) steep 0.18) the two groups. At 1-year follow-up, ± 0.25 diopter (D) in 80.5% 59.7% 0.02) 0.05) rates over time After removing results, there 0.45) groups. Conclusions: postoperative stability group confirmed.

The Changes of Posterior Corneal Surface and High-Order Aberrations after Refractive Surgery in Moderate Myopia

PURPOSE To compare forward shift of posterior corneal surface and higher-order aberration (HOA) changes after LASIK, LASEK, and wavefront-guided LASEK surgery in moderate myopia METHODS One hundred eighty four eyes undergoing LASIK, LASEK and wavefront-guided LASEK with VISX STAR S4 were included in this study. The posterior corneal elevation was measured with Orbscan before, 2 and 4 months a...

Lasek for myopia: first results.

PURPOSE To evaluate the efficacy and safety of laser-assisted subepithelial keratectomy (LASEK) for the treatment of myopia and astigmatism (low, moderate and high). MATERIAL AND METHODS Laser-assisted subepithelial keratectomy was performed by 3 surgeons in 45 eyes using an INPRO Gauss Excimer laser (31 eyes) or a NIDEK EC-5000 Excimer Laser (14 eyes). The mean follow-up is 9 months (3-15 mo...

Corneal Collagen Crosslinking for Ectasia after Refractive Surgery.

The development of corneal ectasia has been recognized as a complication after LASIK since the first case report from Seiler and Quurke in the late 1990s. The clinical picture of iatrogenic corneal ectasia resembles that of progressive keratoconus with reduced corneal biomechanical strength, increasing central corneal steepness, irregular refractive errors, and decreasing visual acuity. Since t...

Accelerated Corneal Collagen Crosslinking for the treatment of Keratoconus

Corneal Collagen Crosslinking (CXL) is a method that has been established as the treatment of choice for keratoconus. Corneal strengthening is achieved with the use of riboflavin (vitamin B2) in combination with ultraviolet radiation UV-A. According to clinical trials conducted in the last years and based on the latest publications, this technique has advanced. The time needed for the procedure...
